Branch History

“The Galveston Branch of AAUW had its first meeting on May 18, 1938. Charlotte Cornell was elected as president with 22 charter members present. Their dues were $3.00 and they met at the Jean LaFitte Hotel. Several letters were found in the scrapbook from the National AAUW President welcoming and encouraging the new group. Consumer Education, Peace, the World of Women and Fellowships were topics of study.” >> more history
